2 – 20 November, San Pedro, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
Atitlan is a giant lake formed by a caldera in the west of Guatemala. It is simply put a fantastic place, beautiful views, lovely crazy people and plenty of bars to be had.
Initially I turned up for 2 days before heading up to Todos Santos, and decided to return for a week of school. The place is a black hole, it is normal to hear the saying
How long did you initially intend to stay for?
For me, 2 days turned into nearly 3 weeks, and I have been staying at the wonderful hotel Mikaso, waking up to a bowl of fresh fruit and the beautiful view above.
Unbelievably I managed 2 weeks of school, really a credit to Antonio at San Pedo escuela de espanol. I have learnt joga, had multiple thermal baths in the orange swedish tighties, massages, climbed stuff, jumped off stuff, kayaked stuff, eaten stuff, looked at stuff and patted stuff.
All in all, this place is more exciting than watching the BNN.
